Bay Area Bikes' Return Policy

    BIKES

    • Returns or exchanges on bikes will be honored only within 5 days of original purchase

    • Returns must be accompanied by original receipt
    • Returns of bikes are subject to a restocking fee equal to 20% of the original retail price

      ACCESSORIES/CLOTHING

      • Returns or exchanges will be honored only within 30 days of original purchase
      • Returns must be accompanied by original receipt
      • Returns of clothing allowed if original tags are still attached
      • No returns on closeout accessories or clothing
      • Credit will be given in the form of merchandise exchange or in-store credit only; acceptance of any return is at the discretion of management
      • Returns of Accessories are subject to a 15% restocking fee

      Layaway Policy

      • Bikes may be held on layaway for no longer than 60 days 
      • 20% deposit is required to hold merchandise
      • Layaways must be paid for in full and picked up within 60 days
      • A restocking fee of 20% of the original full retail price will be retained if the layaway is not completed within the 60 days, or if the layaway is cancelled by customer
      • If the item is not paid for in full and picked up within 90 days from initial deposit, ALL deposits are forfeited and merchandise is returned to stock

      Special Orders

      • All special orders require a minimum 50% deposit
      • Most special orders are filled within one week; some items take longer due to our suppliers' availability 
      • We will call and/or email you when you special order is ready to pick up
      • Shipping charges will apply if you request that we ship your order
      • Special orders not picked up within 30 days are subject to forfeiture of the total deposit made

      Work Orders / Service and Repairs

      • Bikes left for service which are not picked up within 30 days of completion are subject to a storage fee of $5.00 per week. 
      • Bikes not picked up after 60 days from date of completion:
        •  any parts that were used in the service of the bike are returned to stock
        •  all deposits are forfeited
        •  the bike becomes the property of Bay Area Bikes.  In other words, you just donated your bike to a local charity such as Cycles of Change or Trips 4 Kids

      Your info is safe with us

      We are a PCI-Compliant e-commerce supplier. We protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts all of the information you provide to us and prevents outside parties from being able to "see" your transaction information. When your account information is displayed on your screen, we only display the last five digits of your credit card numbers. You also have the choice of whether or not to save credit card information with us in your Online Account.
